Monologue vs Dialogue vs Blogalogue Why not weblogue, then?

people aren't built to talk in groups. To groups, yes; but not in them.

Since I'm into metablog mode, 100 reasons to put your crap on the web is one thing I should finish writing (just like Writing good RSS feed)

1. to meet people
2. to meet The One
3. to get laid
4. to find good places to visit
5. to be read
6. to get a good ranking in google (so I can put "Number 377 jm on the Web, according to Google" in my resume)
7. for fame
8. to stop being a number to become THE number
9. to establish that you know your thing
10. to market your conversation
11. to write more
12. to improve your french
13. to trade staged intimity for some goodies

This practice, however, defeats the original purpose of link-based Weblogging (to find fresh new items online)

Beyond the voyeuristic thrill of it, though, is the knowledge that any links you follow have already been considered worthwhile by someone else.

If you're marketing to a niche or need an online forum for fresh ideas, Web logs could be the new killer app

Is This a Blog?

I recently ran across an article describing a new Web phenomenon called Blogging.< The term is one of those new-age multi-purpose noun / verb / adjective / adverb words whose root form is sort a contraction of Web Log.

What is the real story? Web sites are finally easy and low-cost enough that everyone can do one, not just the folks who like writing stupid HTML tags.

According to some weird studies, number one recipe to become a google link is to write about sex. Number one recipe to get a link on metafilter is to talk negatively or at least provocatively about web logs (if you can say something interesting, it's even better). Number one recipe to get a link on a famous blog is to say nicely something negative about its author.
Number two is always write original content.
