Blogging is really the first chance I've had to share my virtual knowledge container with other people.

Why we blog
I’m pretty sure those under 30 are fully capable of having more than one simultaneous conversation. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it. Maybe it’s evolution.
One thing that I can't do is having two simultaneous conversations in two differents languages. Although it tends to be utterly funny after a while.
But I confess, I like to passively listen to the radio while I code. And I can chew a gum while running.

Wasabii, more than an herb, still great on sushi. And also a web application standard API (for) bi-directional information interchange, aka another blogger API (and a discussion on the need of such an API)
Rusty wonders what is the impact of such an API on the K5 community: such an API allows people to remotely read (already doable via RSS) and post.
Whether a community of various people aggregated around a same physical web site is more active and produce more valuable opinions than through an hyperlinked groups of websites is debatable (or through an aggregator-remote editor like Radio) is debatable.
On one side, there is an uniform interface and a strong sense of the others: only what you say matters; the drawback might be an uniform tone (if the leaders of the community are too strict (see /. for a good example). Plus you will realize really quickly if no one cares about you (or worse moderates you down too often) and you will leave the community to go elsewhere or just be silent.
On the other hand, if you are on your own, you can always convince yourself that your site is indeed the hiddem gem lost and persevere. Whereas you want to socialize, ( aka to have a proof that your voice is being heard by joining the blogspace, i.e. being referred by the stars, or just to promote yours opinions) or not is up to you. But you retain the full control of your editorial and Google is apolitical, it will link to you anyways.(more than three words sentences are hard to write early in the morning!)
